Once upon a time
The Cat, the Dog, and the Truce
Indian folk · retold for families
About 3 min read aloud · For grown-ups and children together
Cat and dog argued over who guarded the grain. Night after night they chased each other; mice feasted.
The farmer split hours: dog watches till moon high, cat till dawn.
First night was awkward. Second night they nodded passing the yard.
Mice moved out. Both slept curled near the same doorstep.
Sharing work beats sharing fights.
