Once upon a time
The Heron and the Fish
Panchatantra · retold for families
About 4 min read aloud · For grown-ups and children together
When the pond dried, a heron offered to carry fish to a deeper lake one by one.
Older fish suspected trickery. Young fish argued and split — some stayed, some went with the heron.
Those who went never returned. Survivors united, dug a channel together when rain came, and saved themselves.
The heron flew away hungry.
Listen to elders; move together.
