Once upon a time
The Lion-Makers
Panchatantra · retold for families
About 4 min read aloud · For grown-ups and children together
Four friends crossed a forest after studying in the city. One pointed at scattered bones. “I can rebuild this lion,” boasted the first, snapping bones into place.
The second added skin. The third breathed life into it. The fourth opened his eyes to sprinkle water — and the lion stood, hungry and real.
The lion roared once. Three friends climbed trees. The fourth, who gave life, was eaten before he could run.
The survivors walked home wiser. Books teach letters; forests teach respect.
Grandparents end with a smile: use learning to help, not to show off — especially near teeth.
