Once upon a time
The Mango Tree and the Jackal
Panchatantra · retold for families
About 3 min read aloud · For grown-ups and children together
Ripe mangoes thumped on ground at noon. Jackals snarled, each claiming the sweetest fruit.
An old farmer shook the branch so many fell. “Enough for all if you stop biting tails.”
Jackals ate in a circle, juice dripping. Birds got seeds to plant.
Next year more trees grew along the lane.
Sharing shade and fruit keeps summer sweet.
