The Three Brothers and the Magic Fish
Indian folk · retold for families
About 4 min read aloud · For grown-ups and children together
Brothers caught a golden fish that spoke: “Free me, I grant one wish each.” The eldest wished for gold, the second for land.
The youngest wished their mother’s blind eyes could see again. Light returned to her face; gold and fields already fading in meaning.
The fish vanished with a splash. Mother hugged all three, richest in the village of hearts.
Brothers shared crops and coins without quarrel.
